Well, I think we should celebrate this day because, slaugher or not, it is part of our legacy and culture and define us as the costaricans we are. We may learned about this in order to avoid any kind of discrimination.
in my personal opinion, no wonder all the traditions and customs in this country has been losting for the thought not keep celebrating these dates. i believe many young people dont even know what columbus day means to us.karlaleiva
Fella there are a lot of thing in history that we cannot change, horrible thing that we've never seen or heard, but our present is what matters and we can change!!!!! I heard a proverb that says: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mistery that we don't know, but today is a gift we decicide to recieve it or not that's why we call it present" Daniel
This holiday Costa Ricans don´t take it too serious... It is a common day, I never celebrate it, just when I was in the school and in the hig school because I have to, not because I want it. Karol S.
Well columbus day is a holiday that we celebrate since our first years old when we was in high school i remember we had diferent activities to celebrate is a little bit of our culture is part of us. :)
nowadays people have forgotten the real meaning about columbus day for this reason racial descrimination exits... people need to learn to appreciate cultural differences and be respectfull to other cultures -gabriel

in my opinion we have to celebrate the Columbus day but nowdays a lot of people forget this day.. That is really sad for me. Laura Bust.
